CHP Consulting will again host the popular International “Fat Bloke” Sevens rugby tournament in 2007. This competition, attended by London Irish star Neal Hatley, raised over £5,000 last year for several children’s charities and takes place over the weekend of 21st and 22nd July.

Established in 2004 and hosted by Reading Abbey RFC, the event is intended for those players whose fitness is not what it was but who still want to enjoy competitive rugby. It is attended by various supporters’ clubs from all over the UK and overseas, as well as CHP Consulting’s own team, but all are welcome to come and join in what promises to be another great weekend of rugby.
The Fat Bloke Sevens will benefit three organisations that provide help for disadvantaged children at home and abroad: the Wooden Spoon Society, who helped organise the tournament; the Shooting Star Children’s Hospice; and the Starfish Greathearts Foundation.
Neal Hatley, of London Irish, captain of England Saxons and holder of the record for most Guinness Premiership appearances, will conduct the prize giving ceremony on Saturday after the Sevens competition. On Sunday, there follows a full 15-a-side game in which every player is encouraged to take part for a small match fee, the proceeds of which will go to PROPS, a rugby-inspired charity that helps children and young adults with special needs.
