Macarena Blanco

I joined CHP in 2007 after completing a PhD in Nanotechnology at University College London, following a Physics degree at Universidad Complutense in Madrid.

So far I have been part of some very different projects. My first role involved the implementation of a series of enhancements at a client's site to comply with changes in legislation. The project gave me the opportunity to put into practice what I had learned during the induction course, and to gain direct client exposure from the very beginning.

My next role was also client-based, and I helped the client to analyse and optimise their business processes. Soon after, I spent several months working from our London offices on a project involving fleet management, and my most recent assignment has been to help transform our core product, ALFA, into a web application.

Each project has set me a new challenge, and each has represented an opportunity to increase my knowledge in different aspects of the industry. It can be a steep learning curve at times, but I have always found the right amount of support. There is a great atmosphere at work; your ideas are taken into account and people always seem to find time to help you if you need it.

I remember reading the profiles of several people in the company when I was thinking of joining CHP. They all stressed that it was the people they worked with that really made CHP a great company to work for. That was, for me, a determining factor in my decision to join - and now, after two years here, I couldn’t agree more.
