AELA's 100 members constitute more than 90 percent of leasing activity in Australia and the conference is one of the biggest events in the industry calendar.

The agenda this year included speakers not only from Australia, but also from the United States and UK. Paul Larkins, new Chairman of ELFA in North America, gave an insightful presentation covering trends in the US marketplace and the capabilities required by equipment financiers to thrive in the future.

Other speakers included Lindsay Town, Managing Director of Asset and Motor Finance for CHP Consulting customer HBOS UK. Town's overriding message was that competition is tough and the lessors who want to survive in the market will be those with robust infrastructure and IT systems.
